If you are looking for Reptiliandia (Reptile Land) in Gran Canaria, it is now closed! For sure – I have just been there. The article at Just Gran Canaria is out of date! We think it has been closed since about 2005.
Reptile Land is referenced quite a bit on the net and in various guides, but there is little official information, so I thought I´d share my experiences…if anyone ever reads this.
– the main attraction for me was feeding of a Komodo dragon on Sunday’s at 2pm 🙂
– over 150 species of reptiles, in clouding crocodiles and Komodo dragons!!
– 55 terrariums
Sounds great so hopefully people will find this article saying the Reptiliandia is NOT open anymore, to save them some time and heartbreak lol. I found an article in Spanish about Reptiliandia being closed on the internet about Reptileland detailing is was closed in 2005 – I´m not sure about the date of closure, but as of November 2016 I can confirm it is definitely closed.
I read on the article On the net from reptile magazine that the owner, Jim Pether, still runs the park, but it is now closed to the public. What a shame as it looked interesting on the side of an inactive volcano with views looking at Agate area seaside mountains and Tamadaba Natural Park Parque Natural Tamad(one of the best views on the island)
